New England Village by Department 56 at Fiddlesticks

There is something special about New England and
its history that calls to all of us - whether we're from there,
visited and vacationed there or merely read about it in
history books and travel brochures. The delicately hand-
painted porcelain buildings and accessories portray a
simpler time when America was beginning its great traditions.

Department 56 introduced the New England Village to
the Heritage Village Collection in 1986.

commerce since colonial times. Apart from a deep channel
running up its center, the 150+ mile long Chesapeake Bay is
relatively shallow and has many shoals which pose a
hazard to navigation. Lighthouses were critical to assist

once marked the Chesapeake Bay, 32 are still standing.
