The New England Village Series
was created
by Department 56 in 1986 to capture the
spirit of historic small town America in the 1800s.
Imagine crashing waves against a rocky
shoreline as a backdrop to picturesque
lighthouses, nautical cottages, one-room schoolhouses,
and seaside businesses. Though life is simple here,
folks have plenty to do, from making candles to
sleigh riding through a rolling countryside filled with
authentic rural barns, farmhouses, and churches.
