Christmas in the City by Department 56 at Fiddlesticks

With all of its hustle and bustle, this series of
hand-painted porcelain buildings and accessories
captures the elegance and excitement of a city.
Representing some of the nation's diverse and most
striking cityscapes, the unusual shops to a brisk
business, restaurants and ballparks are crowded
and patrons and street vendors cater to a steady
stream of customers.

Christmas in the City was introduced in 1987 as the
fourth village in the Heritage Village Collection
by Department 56.

"Engine Company 10" across Liberty Street from World Trade
Center was severely damaged 10 years ago on 9/11/2001
as several of its firefighters paid the ultimate sacrifice with
heroic bravery while providing aide to others. It has now been
rebuilt and includes a 56 foot long bronze memorial along its
Greenwich Street sidewalk. This replica is of the original
firehouse - as if nothing ever happened.
