Frozen Charlottes, sweet and diminutive China dolls, were
popular childhood toys more than a century ago.  Commonly
called "penny dolls", Frozen Charlottes grew in popularity
thanks to their cost - one cent - allowing children to
collect a number of dolls with which to play.
